Chateauguay, Quebec During the incredible Ice Storm of 1998, many residents of Quebec and Ontario used alternate means of heating their homes during the 19-day power outage. César, a three-year-old Boxer, woke his owner Gisèle Lussier by leaping on her chest and barking, as her house filled with deadly carbon monoxide fumes from a kerosene heater. Disoriented, Gisèle managed to dial 911 before collapsing on the floor. When paramedics arrived, Gisèle was unconscious with an extremely weak pulse, and had to be revived before being taken to the hospital. | |
